Making your Parents Let you wear Lolita...

If you want to wear Loli but your family isn't really "for" the style then it's a bit hard to wear it without them knowing. Here are some ways to make them let you wear your loli style.

1. Slow.. long... but worth it Method.
The first step is to plan how you want to go about this. The first thing is to determine how long it will take. It may take 5 months or longer but it is really worth it as your Loli wardrobe is partly full even before you start dressing it fully. Now over the pattern of a few weeks, buy some Loli stuff. I advise getting headbands, jewellery, tights, make-up, gloves and ensure that for an event, you'll ask for a G+L Bible. The next thing is to start taking care of your new items and be wary of dangers like spills. Start to wear blouses and stuff. Eventually, move into casual lolita - just wear pretty frilly skirts, tights, mini-heels or Mary-Jane's and try to do your hair very prettily. After a few months, adore looking at Lolita stuff and look at it online a lot. Eventually you should show your parents some Loli dresses from bodyline or Fanplusfriend Garden - but not too expensive. When you tell them say that you love the style and wish you were able to wear it. For a holiday like Yule or Xmas, tell your parents to buy you the dress. Build your wardrobe and ask if you are allowed to wear it out and about.

2. cosplay Method
Start by going to anime, manga and game events where you dress as someone you know. You should really enjoy it and when you see a Lolita, say "Oh wow, I wish I was able to wear that, it's so pretty and modest :D". Eventually after a few events, buy a Lolita dress and say its a cosplay but where it as Lolita but don't buy a costume =- get something from Bodyline, cosmates, Angelic Pretty and Fanplusfriend (My FAVORITE).

3. Just tell 'em
A few weeks beforehand, do some online research at wiki's and blogs like this wiki and prepare a full-blown speech and presentation to show them if they need it. Then just show them and explain loli or Neo-Victorian but you may not want to deem it... Lolita.... It is also the name of a 12 year old girl in Nakabov's LOLITA.
